Parents can only use good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a persons character lies in their own detention (Marland, Martin, & Frank, 1946 ).  As a college student you will have to overcome and balance many of these challenges to become an efficient and worthy student. Personal responsibility should be practiced everyday whether it is in school, home, and/or in the workplace.
Do not depend on others, you and only you control your destiny. A good student will only receive what they put into their studies, prioritize and be organized.



If you borrow through with this course of action you should find success in life and in school.
Have your long edge goal be your college degree, but have many short term goals also so it wont feel as long to complete. Push yourself to the fullest and it will in turn try you much more gratification at the end of your journey. Roosevelt (1992) stated, In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.
