Introduction

Concepts may be readily observable, or indirectly observable, or inferential, ideas such as pain and temperature; or nonobservable, or abstract, ideas such as equilibrium, adaptation, stress, and powerlessness (Blais, Hayes, Kozier, and Erb, 2006, 96).
