Essay Topic for High School Students
Essay Topic for High School StudentsThe number one most important thing that you can do to help your students ace the essay writing test is to find an essay topic for high school students. I know it sounds like an easy task, but sometimes students are so excited about the opportunity to express themselves and to gain 'exposure' for their writing abilities that they just take the first topic that they come across. If this happens to be a topic that is not related to your students' own life, then they are likely to read far too much into it and use it in place of a real life experience. Do not be afraid to think outside the box, especially when it comes to the topic of your students' essays.I am sure that you have thought of the perfect essay topic for high school students, but you were probably put off by the idea of a general topic. The idea of a general topic could give you some initial confidence that you can tackle anything that comes to mind. This does not mean that you cannot be gin with a specific topic though. It just means that you should realize that you do not have to fit the topic to the actual high school students who are writing the essay. In fact, the best way to write a topic is to think of an experience that you believe that your students have had in the past. Try and keep the topic as personal as possible and you will end up with a more compelling essay. If you are able to create an experience that relates to the topic of the essay, it will give your students a sense of reality when they are trying to relate the essay to their own lives. You should not attempt to plagiarize or re-word a student's experience, but rather embellish it to make it seem more personal. Remember that students have very high expectations of themselves when it comes to their writing and you want them to feel that they are the only ones who have a personal connection to the topic. Giving them a sense of being able to relate to something that they read or heard about themselv es will give them an advantage over students who are forced to write from a different angle. One more tip that I can give you is to not read the same things that your students are reading. This is because your students are far more likely to share opinions with their peers if they are not reading the same information. However, if you do read things that are similar to their experiences, just make sure that you change a word or two to make it different. This is not to say that you should just read the same book or newspaper article that they are, but instead make sure that you are reading something that focuses on a true life experience. For example, if you were reading about someone who went through cancer, then you should find some quotes that are related to the topic and use those quotes. Then you can give a short description of the person and make it so that it would be believable. Just make sure that you choose a topic that is worth relating to and avoid general topics. If you do c hoose a specific topic, then you should focus on the students themselves. You should use words that they would use if they were in their shoes to write about. These types of situations are perfect to make students think about how they would talk and what they would do in certain situations. If you do not like the essay topic for high school students, then you can always make your own. It does not take long to make one and there are many sites online that allow you to upload your own essay and make it available for others to use. You just need to make sure that you use your own hands when you write your own.
