The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith written by Australian author, Thomas Keneally explores about of the ideologies that were present during the earlier 20th century, revolving around an Aboriginal bushranger, Jimmie Blacksmith, and his intention in the society reflects on the genial ideologies that occurred and the value introduced in the short passage. Although the story was set in third-person, it is approximatelyly centred on Jimmies interactions with other characters and locations and how his interactions bring to light how certain ideologies and values shape society in colonial Australia.
The first affable ideology introduced in the passage was the racial dominance of Angelo-Saxon British/Irish influence over society in the early 20th century. The social bitnerisms adopted by the majority of the blank society are seen as dominant and heavily dismissive of those who are of lower class, as the higher classes hold most of the social influences over colonial society. The Healy family is a prime usage of this. The Healys especially Mr Healy can be seen as spot of the middle to higher class, Mrs Healy waited in the dray for her kingly hubby to be finished Mrs Healy can be seen waiting dutifully by the cart for her husband before going to church.

Jimmie himself is subjected to the views of the white Christian values and traditions as earlier on in the book, it was revealed that Jimmie himself was half-caste (Aboriginal mother and white father) and was brought up with Christian values by Mr Neville, assimilating him into white society. trust has no solace for Jimmie but was brought up in a traditional white society as in to decision a wife and settling down on a farm, gaining the common values of a typical Christian man of establishing a family, but as a half-caste.
