January 12, 1888 was a very significant solar day for the settlers of North and mho Dakota, Montana, and Nebraska. The morning began with very warm support. It was the most mild it had been in several weeks, which left the settlers with no warning of the upcoming efflorescence. The termination toll from the blizzard was so high, because it was so unexpected with tremendous measure and very few resources about the weather to go past sufficient warning.
The blizzard was so unexpected considering the warm weather that morning. Children left for school without overcoats or gloves, which of later served them their own life. The blizzard hit in Nebraska and the Dakota Territory as children were loss for school. The blizzard was known as the Schoolchildrens Blizzard because so m each children were killed on their way home from school. In terzetto minutes, the temperature had dropped eighteen degrees. It continued to drop steadily hour afterwards hour. The wind chills had become as low as cardinal below zero by midnight. People began to slowly congest by that point.
The timing of the blizzard could not rescue been any worse for those in Nebraska and the Dakota Territory. The blizzard hit late in the morning or early in the afternoon.
