SYNOPSIS During a sociable evening in the protagonist, Js room three men George, William Samuels and J discuss almost their various illnesses, and decide that they all need a time off from their busy schedule. They prescribe themselves a fortnights holiday and decide to take a boating move up the rivers Thames. They set out the following Saturday. George must create in the city hence he meets them later at Weybridge. They decide to camp outside along the river bank when the live on is good and decide to sleep at the inns when the hold out is bad. This stratum is a concoction of incidents that occur, anecdotes on various topics (including the unreliability of the weather forecasts), and descriptive pieces on the places that they pass. This altogether makes it obvious that the author mean to write a travelogue, although he actually achieved a marvelous classic of British humorous writing. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jerome K. Jerome was an English writer and humorist, who was born on the 2nd of may in Walsall, England to Jerome Clapp Jerome and moon daisy Jones. He studied in St. Marylebone grammar teach .Jerome left school at the age of 14, working first base as a railway clerk, then as a schoolteacher, an actor, and a journalist.

His first book, On the Stageâ€"and Off, was published in 1885, but it was with the outcome of his next books, The Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow (1886) and Three hands in a Boat (1889), that he achieved great success. A small museum dedicated to his life and works was opened in 1984 at his birth home in Walsall, but this close in 2008. The contents were returned to Walsall Museum. J is the narrator of the book. He is a young, single middle-class man living in London, and the initial J is possibly meant to suggest that he stands in for Jerome.
