The Undetectable Rebellion: When Consistent smooth Acts Add Up Rebellion is a way for individuals to reject the normals and goals ready for society, by a governing body. A rebel is wizard who does not possess into the political science, but rather tries to change it, whether that unsusceptibility be for solely themselves or for others as well. In The retainers chronicle by Margaret Atwood, the main character Offred fights against the Gileadean regime in the way that she is best able to by keeping her spirit, passing along her point, and avoids being supressed. The Handmaids Tale is written from Offreds point of view, she acts as the narrator and shares the allegory of her life under the Gileadean regime, which is a confusion against the secretiveness and repose enforced by the regime. Under the regime, women are silenced. From the very beginning, Offred describes the secrecy through her description of the gymnasium where she is first taken by the regime. Here she learned to whisper almost without sound. ….we learned to lip-read, our heads two-dimensional on the beds, turned sideways, watching each others mouths.(Atwood 14).

Sharing of thoughts of whatever sort is completely prohibited, and the thoughts and feelings that Offred shares throughout her story would certainly be considered an insurrection. Offred may not be demonstrating her rebellion to anyone besides herself and her readers, but that does not make her rebellion any less relevant. The existence of her retelling of her story, including both her distant memories and her present, are what give her control over the ending (Atwood 49). Although we do not bed if in the end Offred is given over to the regime or escapes, the entire story itself is a documentation of her small notwithstanding consistent rebellion against the regime.
